The Austin Herb Society’s Spring Plant Sale will have the usual organic herbs and vegetables Austin gardeners have come to count on.

But there’s a whole lot more in store for shoppers on April 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Zilker Botanical Garden.

Lemon Balm

In addition to the wide selection of ORGANIC herbs and vegetables at the great price of $2.50 each, there will be:

  • Education sessions led by long-time herb society members

  • Booths offering artisan products by local artists with items to decorate your garden and pamper yourself

  • Guided tours of the herb garden that is marking its first anniversary in a new location!

Mojito Mint

The Austin Herb Society will also be unveiling new additions to its Cooking with Herbs series.

These beautiful Herb Guides describe the history of the plant, uses in cooking and health, and recipes “thyme-tested” in our members’ kitchens.

The selection of herbs will include varieties of those the cookbooks focus on, such as lemon thyme and lavender thyme, Thai and African basil, and mint to use in everything from mojitos to Armenian pesto.

A new item this year is our specialty boxes – these boxes include five herbs and a packet of fertilizer, and sell for $10 each.

Choose from Beginner’s Box, Kitchen Garden, and You Say Tomato which mixes three types of tomatoes with the perfect herb accompaniment.

Education Tent

Four education sessions give you an opportunity to learn how to use herbs. These four mini-sessions run up to 15 minutes each, and are provided by our veteran herb growers.

Come see the herb garden in its new location.

Event is free.

A park entrance fee is required. Fees are $2 per adult, $1 per child (ages 3-12) or seniors (age 62 & over), and $3 for non-Austin Residents.
