Austin Herb Society volunteers have planted and maintained the herb garden at Zilker Botanical Garden since the club was established in 1983. The site was originally constructed as a fragrance garden in 1973/74 focusing on the ease of exploration for the visually and mobility impaired. Carefully selected varieties of culinary, medicinal, ornamental and aromatic plants in raised limestone beds make walking through a delightful experience.
